SOUTH BEND — Sandra Kennedy is remaining promoted to provide as the lead town attorney for South Bend, Mayor James Mueller declared Wednesday.
Kennedy joined South Bend’s legal office in 2018 as an assistant metropolis lawyer and will choose in excess of the job of corporation counsel following previous town lawyer Stephanie Steele getting named a St. Joseph County Exceptional Courtroom judge in April.
“I am excited to accept the appointment to provide the metropolis as its upcoming corporation counsel, and I hope to carry on the outstanding leadership delivered by my predecessors,” Kennedy said in a launch. “I am hunting ahead to guiding the Authorized Division as we help the other departments in their delivery of providers to the inhabitants of and guests to South Bend.”

Prior to her new appointment as city lawyer, Kennedy represented the city’s Department of Local community Financial commitment and Office of Innovation and Technological innovation, according to a launch. Kennedy graduated from St. Mary’s College or university and gained her law degree from Indiana University. She also holds master’s levels from Purdue College Northwest, according to a metropolis release.
